I invite colleagues to open debate around the issues raised in my presentation, both those relating to research and to practice.

Hi Hudson
I really liked you poster! Have you also evaluated at the same time species in unburned areas? It would be great to show these results if you have, to be sure that plants really flowered because of fire :)
Take a look at Zirondi et al. 2021. JVS! She has cool results about post-fire flowering in the Cerrado, and I recognized several species in your pictures that were the same that Heloiza found in her study flowering after fire, that we know that are fire-stimulated! :)

Hi, Alessandra! Thank you so much for watching it, I'm glad you liked it!!

Uh, no, I didn't go into unburned areas. Well, this was actually a side project to my main research (that is focused on germination), so, I actually did a phenological study to be able to collect the seeds at the right time, and from that, I could get some data on species flowering after fire and their phenology. :)

But I really don't think I would find any of these species flowering in the unburned area, at that moment at least! I know the study from Heloiza Zirondi (great study btw, love it!) and I believe most of the species I found in the first seven weeks were fire-triggered but, as we continued for later weeks, some species seemed to synchronize flowering.
